My favourite I’ve seen lately has been Mest and Goldfinger. PZO: Who has been the biggest musical influence to you? Benji: I would have to say Rancid. PZO: Do your tattoos and piercings symbolize anything special? Benji: They symbolize that I can do what I want. They ensure that I will never work a regular job. PZO: How do you feel about WHFS radio station supporting you and who is your favorite WHFS dj?? Benji: They’re amazing and so cool. I love them. I like all of the DJs. Grahm, Gina Krash, Pat, Bob. Tim Vigin is the man. PZO: Did you ever watch Sesame Street and, if you did, who was your favorite character? Benji: No, I didn’t watch it. I watched Mr. Rogers though. That guy is creepy. PZO: If you could make a band out of animals, which animal would you be? Benji: A Bear Monkey PZO: What do you do in your spare time? Benji: Write songs, read, learn new languages. PZO: Really? Benji: No. PZO: What were you classified as in high school? Benji: I was a loser.....nah, I didn’t have a classification. I had friends in different groups. That’s when I started the band. PZO: What’s your favorite place to eat in California? Benji: Your mom’s house!! No, just kidding. Actually, outside on the sidewalk. I like to spread my food around and make people walk around me.......No, I like El Pollo Loco....and Rubio’s! PZO: That’s what someone told me. Benji: One day we all went surfing with the lead singer of Goldfinger and he took us there afterwards. It’s so good! PZO: How did you come up with the name Good Charlotte? Benji: Actually, it;s the name of a children’s book, obviously, called Good Charlotte. We thought it would be a cool band name. We’re trying to come up with a good story for the band as well. PZO: Do you get along with the other band members? Benji: Not at all. They’re all assholes. As soon as I find some other guys to replace them with, they’re out. Nah, we’re all friends. We all get along. Joel and I are best friends. PZO: How did you all meet? Benji: It’s a weird story actually. We were all going to your mom’s house. We all got there at the same time and met on the porch. PZO: Oh really.... Benji: Yeah! No, we met in high school. PZO: I like the other story better. Benji: Me too. PZO: What is your best childhood memory? Benji: Getting beat. Being sent to bed without dinner. No....My brothers and sisters. Hanging out. PZO: What do you do while you’re not out on the road? Benji: Check out new bands, wisit some bands in the studio, write songs. I sometimes watch t.v. I date too, but it hasn’t been going that well lately. PZO: What was your worst job? Benji: Hmmmm.....I’d have to say Target. PZO: Since you and Joel are identical twins, do you ever sense what’s going on with each other when you’re apart? Benji: Yeah. When something bad happens, we can sense it. PZO: We know you like goth/punk girls, but would there be any chance of a change? Benji: Well, if I dated a prep, I would be prepper, wouldn’t I? I guess if they were nice and we got along, then yeah. There isn’t a specific type for me. PZO: Can you dance? Benji: I can freak. PZO: What was the best birthday present this year?
